Our home is our place of refuge, a place where we get away from it all. Somewhere we can kick back and relax.
It's a place that we are supposed to feel safe and secure, out of harm's way. It is a place where our kids can play and grow without a care in the world. This is the ideal picture that most of us would want to hold about what our homes ought to be.
Unfortunately, however, this is not always the case. Society has moved very far from the days where life was a little more laid back and whole lot safer. These days, there are frightening statistics of one in almost every 6 homes being burgled each year.
This coupled with the reality of most families having both spouses working, has given rise for the need for there to be better security for their prized possessions and families. Various alternatives could be presented to take care of this need like hiring security guards with vicious guard dogs to watch your property.
This option however does not come cheap and, let's face it, we don't want our homes to look like fortresses (unless we're hiding something).
There are other, more extreme means you could employ that we are not going to discuss here.
If it's home security you are looking for, you are in luck though.
A simpler, cheaper and arguably more effective method is available to you. There are now a host of security cameras available to you today which you can employ.
There are various security needs in the home depending on the station we are at in life.
Single individuals would want to keep an eye on their property while they are way, for example.
A working married couple with children would want, among other things, to keep an eye on the nanny or baby sitter. In the latter case, parents can install special spy cameras to watch what happens at their homes in their absence.
These range as low as $6 for vary basic ones up to thousands of dollars for high tech ones.
Spouses who suspect their partners of infidelity have also been known to use spy cameras to investigate the goings on in their houses while they are away.
Depending on your budget, there are also CCTV options that are available to almost every home owner. There are now CCTV sets that come complete with cameras, cabling DVR software and DVR units that are affordable to just about everybody.
