The advantage of taking the classes online means that you have more time to study and complete the degree at your own time and when it is most convenient for you and your schedule.

Each school will vary slightly with the class requirements, however most of the paralegal degrees will require courses in different areas of law.

A certification in paralegal services does not have to be approved by the ABA but there is a better chance of being hired when you have degree from a school that is approved.

Online schools should also be accredited too.
This holds weight as well when looking for a job.
People who want to work as a paralegal actually have the option of receiving a degree or certification in the field. Though a certification is good, the course requirements are practically the same and a degree always looks better than a certification does.

Plus, many law firms prefer a degree over a certification as well.

As the firms grow in size, there is a greater chance that they will want a degree in the paralegal field to hire a person.
Once the online paralegal degree is received, jobs can be found by looking under legal assistants or firm assistants.

Some firms use paralegals often, while others do not. The paralegal field is still very new in that respect.

Once working for a firm the hours are usually standard 9am to 5pm. However, there is a lot of over time required in the field.

Once a paralegal has been in the industry for over 8 years, the pay by that time is around $60,000.
